10-30-06

Jawon and I watched the Hawkeyes Saturday in between visits to Moriah. She looked pretty good and had her eyes open most of the time. We did see her move her left arm several times and she did seem to have reaction to voices. Her complexion seems to be getting better. She seemed to have a little bit more of a focus in her eyes, so we hope and pray that this continues. Again it's hard to say how many of these reactions or voluntary or otherwise, but we'll take what we get.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Jawon and I spent Friday evening and Saturday together. If you would look up energy you might find his picture there. We had a great time. I'll share some of our conversations with you.

back from the the ozarks

The week at the lake went well, however I wish the weather would have been nicer. The fall colors were outstanding. Another reminder of the beauty that has been created for us. I couldn't stop thinking how Mary would have commented relentlesly about how beautiful it was. I can't say I've ever seen the colors of fall so vividly. Not sure if they were that great or that I notice things like that more now. Thanks to Laird and Sandy, the greatest friends one could have. I am truly a blessed man in so many ways.

I arrived back on Friday and went to see Mojo. She was wide eyed and alert. Over the weekend she was very alert and saw a few yawns, heard a couple of moans(new) and some sneezes. She did have an issue with a urinary infection, but that seems to have been resolved. Her face looked much better. She looked a lot better than she has the last month, so let's hope and pray that something good is coming. I think I could handle a miracle. Many thanks to all the staff at Windmill Manor.

On the music scene, Buddy Guy was great, too bad it was in a casino and they held him to his contracted 90 minutes, but none the less, very enjoyable. Saturday night I checked out Bruce Teague and his new band at the Yacht Club followed by Big Time Sarah (A Chicago Blues Icon). Some how Mary got connected through church with Bruce several years ago. Check him out sometime, he's got a great Blue's voice. Thanks to Brent and Brian and Darlene for a fun evening.

and brings deep darkness to light.

Keep on the sunny side

10-11-06

Moriah was somewhat alert over the weekend and was visited by Aunt Jane(Mary's sister) and Uncle Ron. She was very quiet the first couple of days this week. I guess I should know better but when things don't change you kind of start wondering if anything is ever going to get better. Just when I somewhat tend to give up on her she reminds me she's still here. I had a couple of kind of tough days and when I walked in to see her today and said her name she flinched in her chair and kept her eyes wide open the entire time I was there. Not saying it means anything but as you've heard before, hope is all we have. I keep praying that she doesn't stay stuck in the "in between".

"Great victories come, not through ease, but by fighting valiantly and meeting hardships bravely"
Many thanks to those of you who continue the fight by our sides.

I have a couple of extra tickets to see Buddy Guy on October 20. If anyone is interested give me a call at 319-400-4423 or you can probably find me at Maynerds. Only for the next couple of days as I will be heading to the lake on Friday for several days.

Why do we sing the Blues?? Cuz it's what we got and you don't find them, they find you.

For as the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return there until
they have watered the
earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and
bread to the eater.
so shall my word be that goes
out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me
empty,
but it shall accomplish that
which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for
which I sent it.
Isaiah 55 v10,11

We do not know what's in store for us, only that there is a purpose. You all mean a lot to me, thanks again for being there for us.
God Bless,
Dale

P.S.
Please pray for a very large CATFISH next week!!!

10-3-06

No major changes in Mojo's condition since the last posting. She has had her eyes open a fair amount the last week, but also goes through periods where she does not. Her eyes seem a bit better. There have been some minor reactions to voices(me yelling at her) but nothing that could be considered consistent. She seemed to be deeply saddened by the Hawks performance on Saturday. She was as some of you know a pretty big football fan. I continue to be touched by your prayers and thoughts. It is at times overwhelming, in a very good way. I am amazed by how many people Moriah and Mary touched, many of whom I did not know. Please stop by and see her if you have a few minutes.

I know that God will not give me more than I can handle, I just wish he didn't trust me so much.

Goodbye's certainly have taken on a different connotation than they did before.
