11-19-07

Sarah is a childhood friend of Moriah's from Dubuque. They kept in touch after we moved to Iowa City from Dubuque. Hope you can attend. Donations will be accepted at the concert. Proceeds will benefit the Mary Reiman Scholarship Fund of Iowa City.
Donations to this fund are tax deductable. Checks need to be made out to the P.E.O Foundation and if you could, please write Mary Reiman Memorial Scholarship Fund in the memo line.
Nothing really new with Moriah. She looked really good over the weekend. Couldn't be because she watched the Hawkeye game! She has also been battling a little bit of congestion again so we will have to keep an eye on that. We have a follow up visit to the eye doctor next week. So, we still need your prayers.
The house is coming along well. All the floor tile, cabinets, interior doors, and most of the trim are done. The outside decks are done as well, I would show you some new pictures but I left my camera home on the last trip. Should be pretty well wrapped up in the next few weeks.
I'll be heading to Wisconsin for the Thanksgiving weekend. First time in 30 years I haven't had to work on the Friday after Thanksgiving. In retail we have a few different names for this day, but I'll let your imagination figure that out. Have a great holiday, remember what it's for(giving thanks) and give all your loved ones a hug for me.
Cherish what you have, not what you don't.

Fall in the Ozarks

Dale, can't you read?

Ryan and Myself near the highest point in Missouri.

Morning has broken.

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Window wall at the new house.

Ryan and I had a great week in the Ozarks. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. The hiking was great. The colors were great. The concert with the Daredevils was probably one of the best musical experiences ever (for me). They sounded great in a very small, intimate environment. They played several songs I had never heard live before including "Beauty In The River" Wow, lots of goosebumps. What a cool venue. Brought back a ton of good memories. We had to cut our trip a little short as I had to return to Iowa City as Moriah was thought to have had an ear infection. So another trip to the hospital but it turned out to be nothing serious. We have a couple of new supports for her chair so that problem appears to have finally been corrected. She finally sits up a little straighter and looks more comfortable. She continues to be somewhat alert at times but no major changes. We will be returning to the hospital for a follow up visit on her eyes in a couple of weeks . Keep on prayin!
The house project is moving along. Should look like a different place in a couple of more weeks. I'll be heading down for a few days this week to finish the decks. Hopefully I'll be in by Christmas.

11-2-07

Moriah had a pretty good week. We finally have a better head brace for her wheelchair. She looks much more comfortable without the strap across her forehead. She was visited several times this week by her Grandparents Claude and Verna(Mary's parents). It was great to have them here, and Claude and I even got a round of golf in(he golfed I whacked). They are on their way to there winter home in Lake Havasu AZ.
I'm on my way to the airport to pick up my brother Ryan. We will be spending the next week hiking in the Ozark National Forest. We hope to see some of God's beauty along the Ozark Trail and will take in a concert in Steelville, Mo. by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Bittersweet, Bittersweet.
If anyone would like flyers in regards to the benefit on November 2nd for the Mary Reiman Scholarship Fund of Iowa City please let me know. I can get you copies.
